Hello! I am a children’s book author and illustrator from Wichita, Kansas. I was raised in a small town and am the youngest of six. 

As a mother of four (now adults), a grandmother of nine, and a teacher, I have seen the impact reading to a child at an early age can have. Having worked with children, I know the importance of not only reading but also imagination. As a young child, I remember where some of the adventures in my imagination would take me.

Because of that imagination, I started to love creating stories at a very young age. I also love to travel, and many of the little critters and animals I have seen along the way spark a story! (My husband and my sister can attest to that.) Hence, my new love of writing for children. I constantly draw inspiration and ideas from my travels and experiences for my writing.

We are a very close family, and my grandchildren inspire me always. I write my books for them and involve them in the creative process whenever I can. 

My hope for the future is to continue the theme of the forest animals, while continuing with an important message in each book.

I also plan on having some author sessions along with my niece, who is also my illustrator.  These will include book readings, signings, and live drawing demonstrations, just to name a few of the activities. These sessions will be fun, inspirational, and engaging.
